Project Info
Production and implementation of an Ecological Mitigation Plan and Code for Sustainable Homes Assessment for a residential development in Cornwall.
New build in Wadebridge
Bird boxes built into house
Project Description
Planning permission for 48 houses in Wadebridge was granted, with conditions relating to wildlife mitigation measures.
Richard Green Ecology produced and oversaw implementation of an Ecological Mitigation Plan, which included retention, replacement and management of species-rich Cornish hedges; creation and management of wildflower meadow; provision of bat roosts and bird boxes in new buildings; sensitive lighting to avoid impacts on bats; and translocation of reptiles and creation of new reptile habitat and hibernacula both on and off site.
Acting as the ‘suitably qualified ecologist’, we also provided the report on ‘Ecology’ for assessment against Code for Sustainable Homes criteria.
